When making an offer, the buyer can specify which language(s) (audio and subtitles) of the content they wish to license.
Original Language
Typically, a Listing will have one original audio track. As a buyer, you have the option of stating whether you wish to license this original audio track (default is "yes"). In most cases, the buyer will leave the default. However, in cases where the content was created in one language, the buyer may want to dub it in another language and only broadcast the content in that dubbed language.
Dubbed Audio Track(s)
The buyer can specify which language(s), if any, they wish the content to be dubbed into. In cases where existing dubbings are available, the buyer can select which one(s) they wish to license.
In cases where a desired-language dubbing is not yet available, the buyer can request that dubbing under one of two commercial options:
- By Buyer (Buyer produces and pays) - The buyer is requesting the approval to produce the dubbing in the buyer's language(s) of choice. The seller would be expected to provide the necessary materials to support this dubbing work, specifically original scripts and original-language screeners. It will then be up to the mutual agreement between the buyer and seller to determine whether the seller can sell the new dubbing(s) to other buyers at a later time.
- By Seller (Seller produces and pays) - The buyer is requesting that the seller produce (and cover the cost of) dubbing the content into the desired language. The seller would normally be free to license the dubbing to other buyers.
Subtitles
Similar to dubbings, the buyer can specify which language(s), if any, they wish the content to be subtitled into. In cases where existing subtitles are available, the buyer can select which one(s) they wish to license.
In cases where the desired-language subtitles are not yet available, the buyer can request that subtitle under one of two commercial options:
- By Buyer (Buyer produces and pays) - The buyer is requesting the approval to produce the subtitles into the buyer's language(s) of choice. The seller would be expected to provide the necessary materials to support this subtitling work, specifically original scripts and original-language screeners. It will then be up to the mutual agreement between the buyer and seller to determine whether the seller can sell the new subtitle(s) to other buyers at a later time.
- By Seller (Seller produces and pays) - The buyer is requesting that the seller produce (and cover the cost of) subtitling the content into the desired language. The seller would normally be free to license the subtitles to other buyers.
