If you already have trailers, screeners or other promotional videos hosted at your own Vimeo account, you don't need to upload those videos into the Vuulr Marketplace. You can, instead, provide the video's link, and we'll embed it in your Listing's page.
Warning: The only risk of doing this is, if later you remove the Video from your YouTube account, or change it's security permissions, the video will not be accessible via the Vuulr Marketplace anymore. Therefore, we do recommend uploading the video into the Vuulr Marketplace instead.
Where to Paste the Embed Link
When you're at the Media Uploads page of your Listing, under Trailers, Screeners, or Other Promotional Videos, you can click the tab "Embed", and you'll be able to paste a link.
It is here that you can paste your Vimeo link.
Where to Find the Embed Link
For Vimeo videos, the embed link is actually the direct URL of the Video.
For example, if we're looking at one of Vuulr's videos, at URL https://vimeo.com/310936229, this is actually the link that you can paste in the Embed text boxes on Media Uploads.
The Use of Private Links
It is important to highlight that we cannot use Vimeo private links due to limitations with Vimeo's system.
A link that looks like https://vimeo.com/379698274/9aefeda002 will, unfortunately, not work. We'll need the full public URL such as https://vimeo.com/379698274. The video will need to be publicly accessible; please see the instructions below.
NB: Don't worry, you don't need to open your videos up for all to see! Please read on to see how to secure your videos and to only allow Vuulr embeds to access them.
Your Vimeo Account Security Settings
Do take note that you may need to adjust your Vimeo account's (or the specific Video's) security settings to allow embedding by 3rd party sites, like Vuulr.com.
Vimeo Account Security Settings
If you plan on embedding many videos from your Vimeo account into Vuulr, then you may want to first set the embed privacy settings prior to uploading videos to Vuulr.
Go to your Vimeo account's settings.
Find Upload Defaults under Videos.
Find the Where can your videos be embedded?, and select 1 from 2 of the 3 options: Anywhere, or Only sites I choose. If you choose Anywhere, you're done (but be sure to press Save!).
If you want to restrict embedding to just Vuulr, you'll need to select Only sites I choose.
After this, click + Add domain.
Next, you'll be presented with a text box where you need to type in "vuulr.com".
Then click Save at the bottom. Note: If you have many previously uploaded videos that you also want to be embedded on Vuulr, be sure to check the box next to Also apply to all existing videos:
Now you should all be set!
Video Security Settings
The first thing you need to do is access the video's settings by clicking on the Settings button when you're on the Video's page.
Once you're at the Settings page, navigate to Privacy.
Scroll down to Where can this be embedded?, and select 1 from 2 of the 3 options: Anywhere, or Specific Domains. If you choose Anywhere, you're done (but be sure to press Save!).
If you want to restrict embedding to just Vuulr, you'll need to select Specific Domains.
After this, you'll be presented with a text box where you need to type in "vuulr.com", then click the plus button.
After clicking the plus button, you'll see:
Then click Save at the bottom:
You're all set!
