How do I manage my VuulrOS website alongside Vuulr.com?
From your perspective, it’s perhaps easier if you imagine that your VuulrOS acts a bit like a "plugin" to Vuulr.com. Because both use the same technology, it will feel that you’re operating in Vuulr.com.
That said you will need to manage your VuulrOS whitelabel website in 2 places:
- The VuulrOS Dashboard (https://os.vuulr.com/dashboard): this is where you administer the 'nuts and bolts' of your site. You can manage your subscription, customise the marketing aspects of your website (your brand, colour palette, company description), the domain name of your custom landing page etc, and:
- You will also see a menu item to be able to "Bulk Upload"** your metadata, avails and assets. This actually hops you to what looks like Vuulr.com, but it's actually your VuulrOS platform! You will find yourself in a new menu area dedicated to VuulrOS customers and from here you can upload and validate your metadata, assets (poster art, screeners etc), and add your Avails
- The Vuulr.com page (https://yourcompany.vuulr.com): Once you're happy with what you've built, you're already in your website and this takes over as your work bench. You would:
- check your listings
- top up your catalog add a listing, or amend one, one at a time
- manage your Negotiations
In short, once you've created your website, may not need to go back to #1 that often.
Remember that - during the sign-up process - your site is essentially live as soon as you finish the payment process. BUT it will not be visible to your customers until you market it to them. So you have time to configure it, and build it out with your catalog, safe in the knowledge that there will be no random visitors until you tell anyone about it!
NB: as a VOS customer, your listings will also appear in Vuulr.com because both as served by the same data and codebase. Vuulr.com has a different set of buyers, and you don’t pay upfront to be visible there, so this is an additive distribution channel for you. If one of your regular Buyers buys one of your listings on Vuulr.com, there is no commission; he/she is your Buyer and we don’t interfere with that relationship.
The Buyer's Experience
To the customer looking in - your Buyers - once they login, they will feel in a familiar place - with your website's ‘framework’ and navigation identical to Vuulr.com's. EXCEPT they are actually in your website, under your company brand and exclusively your content.
** Due to technical constraints, bulk uploads of your video assets (screeners, trailers) will not propagate your website immediately.
When you first create your website, the fastest way to populate your website with video assets (screeners, trailers) is - as mentioned above - to bulk load them via the Bulk Upload menu item. Technically, this places them into a secure AWS S3 cloud storage space; however, because the playout of these assets is managed securely by Brightcove, our Content Operations team then has to transfer them to their separate server. We are alerted when your assets arrive in the AWS folder, but the team need a little time to propagate them across because - as of now - this is not an automated process.
